Formed some 12 years ago by Nigel Morley, the orchestra quickly established a reputation for performing classical music to a very high standard. We pride ourselves on a varied, entertaining and enlightening programme ranging from solo piano with voice, quartet, octet, nonet, chamber or full orchestral. Many of the professional players have been with TMS from the early days, offering a level of performance all can enjoy.

Richard Laing, appointed assistant musical director last year, takes a more active role during the current season. and is instrumental in producing another welcome series of concerts.

Nigel Morley, our founder and musical director, recently moved north but returns to conduct the Artrix concert and accompany helen Winter at the piano. He has also appeared in many venues around the UK, is an accomplished composer and a talented musician. He graduated from the Birmingham Conservatoire with major awards and works with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, the English Symphony Orchestra, the Birmingham Opera Company and the Midlands Hospital Choir. Nigel's other credits include work for television and radio and a live Henry Wood Prom.
